Simple to prepare and the taste is outstanding! Who can resist apples, cinnamon and syrupy sauce? Serve this over ice cream,
sautéed bananas, or slices of cake.
You will need:
4 sliced, peeled, and cored apples
Heat the butter until sizzling and add the apple slices which have previously been sprinkled with lemon juice.
Serve hot over ice cream or cake, or as a sauce for banana splits. This is also enjoyable over hot, split muffins, waffles, or pancakes.
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla
lemon juice
nutmeg
4 tbls butter
Sauté on medium heat, sprinkle with cinnamon and vanilla, and a dash of nutmeg. Stir often, turning apples to evenly coat with the sugar, cinnamon mixture. The sugar will break down, creating a syrupy mixture. Reduce heat, and cook slowly, stirring often. Taste and adjust seasonings.
